Boon Rawd Brewery Co., Ltd. was accorded the Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards (AREA) 2017 – Social Empowerment Category for its project “100 Singha Sufficient Schools” at the Renaissance Hotel‎, Bangkok on 2 June.

Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards (AREA) is organized by Enterprise Asia. The allocades honor Asian businesses that demonstrate distinguished achievement for social and environmental responsibility through sustainable business practices. Enterprise Asia is a non-governmental organization that encourages entrepreneurship as an engine toward sustainable and progressive economic and social development. The company promotes competition to improve the living standards of people across Asia and instill a legacy of hope, innovation and inspiration for future generations.

“100 Singha Sufficient Schools” Project was induced by the concept of a self-sufficient economy by His Majesty our late King Rama IX. Mr. Piti Bhirombhakdi  and the Board of Directors of Boon Rawd Brewery Ltd. allocated SINGHA R-SA a budget of 30,000 baht to show students the simplicity of life, and incorporate real-life learning programs in 100 schools all over Thailand through projects including a ranch for 100 chickens, vegetable and 500 mushroom plantations, and ponds for 800 catfishes.

Using the products from these projects, the children are able to feed themselves and their families and sell extra produce to the local markets.
