The biggest news around the world in June was of 12 Thai football players trapped by rising floodwaters in a cave with their coach. Global support and encouragement was offered to the authorities and rescue teams trying to save the boys from the Moo Pa (Wild Boars) Academy who had entered Tham Luang Khunnam Nang Non (Natural Cave) at Chiangrai Province and found themselves unable to escape. While the rescue effort was underway, our only way to help was to encourage the authorities and wish them the best of luck.
On the 26th and 27th June 2018, Singha R-SA set out to provide support by first of all arranging for fruit and drinking water to be taken to the cave, and then on the second day by teaming up with networks of local scholars as well as the Restaurateur and Goods Product Association of Chiangrai to bring cooked food to those contributing to the rescue effort.
With the wonderful work of the rescue teams, it was incredible to see all the boys brought out to safety in very difficult circumstances, and also to see the support offered by people from all over Thailand and around the world. Singha R-SA is proud to have been able to provide our help.
