A very busy month kicked off with lots of fun at the Singha R-SA English Camp on 3rd June 2018. The camp was held in Kanchanaburi Province at Sriloharatbumrung School in Thamuang District. To make the project extra special for the youngsters involved, we took along 14 volunteers from countries all over the world to help teach English: USA, Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, Cyprus and Hong Kong – all in association with the Volunteer English Bangkok group.

Although some of the children were quite shy at first, the atmosphere in the classroom was great fun, and before too long everyone was trying out every bit of English they knew, and it didn’t really matter if it was right or wrong as long as they tried to communicate. After the lessons there were games and activities, so everyone could participate and use their English.

The day passed all too quickly though, and soon it was time to say goodbye to new-found friends. It might not be possible to learn a language in a day, but the memories provided can last a lifetime and provide encouragement to learn more. Singha R-SA hopes everyone will be able to use English in the future, as well as feeling more confident and ready to have fun learning.
