In August 2020, heavy rain has hit the northern provinces, resulting in flash floods in many areas. In addition, the overflowed water from the Yom River flooded the people’s houses, especially in Loei, Nan, Chiangrai, and Sukhothai where the situation is more severe. The water level rose more than 2 meters deep in some areas. Hundreds of households were affected. The residents had to flee without food and drinking water. The whole region was affected. We, the Singha R-SA team were also prepared to visit the area as soon as the news arrived.
Throughout August, Singha R-Sa and Singha R-Sa student networks in the northern provinces, Loei Province Restaurant Entrepreneur Association and Bangkaew Rescue Team visited the site to perform an urgent mission at the Soob village in Namsuay sub-district, Mueang district, Loei; Klangvieng sub-district, Viengsa district, Nan; Ban Buakkhon in Mae Chedimai district; Ban Mor, Pa-ngiew district; Ban Fueyhai in Ban Pong district, Chiangrai and Sukhothai province. Singha R-SA team donated 10,000 liters of clean water, 1 ton of rice, and cooked meals to flood victims for initial relief.
Despite the tough and urgent visit due to rain and having to travel across the flooded area, we were never discouraged because we knew there were people awaiting our help. Our mission did not end there, Singha R-Sa team continued to established near the site until the situation improved.
