As the cold spread out all across Chiang Rai, we, the Singha Volunteers, decided to extend our stay with the cold winds. We ventured out on another “Handing Out Hugs Trip” activity. This time we were joined by participants from all over the area: – Students of Singha Volunteer Network from universities, Rajabhat Universities, Rajamangala Universities of Technology, and Exchange students from 100 institutes – Expats group (foreigners who reside in Thailand) – Restaurant owners and Good Product Association With over 150 participants on board, we headed off to Hai Naam Khun Wittaya School, Amphur Mae Saraui, Chiang Rai to hand out winter coats and warm hugs to both students and the local people. We also renovated the school’s old playground into a colorful brain-based training area, decorated with brightly-colored cartoon characters. The leftover paint was used to decorate the school buildings and the surrounding areas. Singha Volunteers also donated exercise machines and equipment for the people to boost up their health during their free time. Last, but not least the foreigners who participated in this activity also offered English lessons to the students. The cheerful nature and joyful laughs of the students certainly brightened up our day.
