This October, Thammasat University cooperated with Pathumthani Province to create the project named “Paddling for Chao Phraya River”, which aimed to pick up trash and other waste from the river while paddling from Pak Nam Pho to Samutprakan. This project was intended to campaign and motivate people who live by the riverside and other people to conserve nature by not throwing trash or discharging sewage into the river.
On 8 October, Singha R-SA, with Mr. Somchai Khemklad and volunteers from Thammasat University, Rangsit University and Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, traveled to give drinking water and food to the paddlers, who were led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Prinya Tewanaruemitkul, Vice President for Sustainability and Administration of Rangsit Center of Thammasat University, at Pier 1 of Pathum Thani Brewery Co., Ltd. Afterward, all of them went paddling to pick up trash together.
Singha R-SA encouraged the paddlers because it endeavors to be active in nature conservation through several kinds of activities. We believe that if all people collaborate, the sewage problem can surely be eliminated.
