Because water is an essential part of our everyday life, a professional plumber is, therefore, an indispensable profession. If any water-related appliance in our household has broken down, a plumber is the one we would call to fix it. Therefore, plumbing is an undeniably useful skill that can be utilized, whether in our daily life or as a career.
That is the reason why, for the Plumbing Training Course under Singha R-SA’s vocational training program, Singha R-SA directly sought after expert instructors from officers of the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) to provide insight knowledge and techniques to the participants throughout the three days of training.
The training on the first day focused on the water tank maintenance, the second day the handling of water pipes and related equipment, and on the third day, we paid a visit to Samlae Raw Water Pumping Station in Pathum Thani where we learned of its history and legacy. Samlae Pumping Station is the first point that pumps water from the Chao Phraya river into the MWA’s treatment plant, where water is treated and becomes the clean water supply for Bangkokians. Participants also had an opportunity to observe the MWA staff at work as well as the whole water treatment process.
After spending three days of training and learning under the guidance of MWA staff, we were able to understand the plumbing profession much better. We were also confident that after completing the course, everyone would be able to put the knowledge they gained to good use.
