In January 2017, Southern Thailand suffered heavy rainfall that caused flash floods and many provinces including Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Narathiwat, Yala, Songkhla, Pattani, Trang, Surat Thani, Chumpon, and Ranong were submerged in water. Village life was disrupted as the roads became impassable. SINGHA R-SA, SINGHA R-SA Volunteer Network, Singha Urachat Agent, Thai TV Channel 3, Nakhon Si Thammarat Association of Food, Trang Association of Food, Phatthalung Association of Food, Chumphon Association of Food, Division of Student Development from Suratthani Rajabhat University, and Mit Chumphon Agent traveled to the flooded areas to distribute 5,300 packs of drinking water, 1,160 bags of rice, 500 aid packages, and food to the flood victims.
