April is usually the hottest time of year in Thailand, but this year the region was plagues by violent summer storms bringing heavy rain which inundated parts of the country. Chainat was one are which faced severe damage as over a hundred homes were devastated by very strong winds.

When the news of Chainat’s plight reached Singha R-SA, a quick response was planned which would provide immediate assistance for thirty households from the village of Ban Wang Lanthom in the Nongsaeng sub-district in Chainat Province. A team of volunteers was assembled from Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University and Srinakharinwirot University (Prasarnmit Campus) to assist Singha R-SA in making sure that all the victims had access to clean water which was brought to the village on 28th April 2018.

Upon arrival in the village, the team saw clear signs of all the damage done by the storm, and it was clear that the local people had suffered considerably from the experience. The team tried to lift their spirits by chatting and smiling to everyone, and working hard to distribute the water. Singha R-SA always believes that brighter times lie ahead after the storm, and hopes to be able to help the villagers in recovering from their ordeal.
