Solve Flooding by Cleaning Canal @Ayutthaya

The water hyacinth is one of the causes of flooding because it blocks waterways, so when it has rained, the water flows more slowly and floods the city.

On 3 September, Singha R-SA with Singha Beverage Co.Ltd., the Sammueang Sub-district Municipality, a representative from the 13th Irrigation Department of Phraya Banlue Canal’s Irrigation and Maintenance Project, more than 200 villagers, and volunteers from 6 universities, including Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University, Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi (Huntra Center), Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University, Thonburi Rajabhat University, Rangsit University, and Dhurakij Pundit University cleared the Phrayabanlue canal by picking and collecting water hyacinths at Ladbualuang district, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

To make the mission more fun, we turned it into a competition between the Singha R-SA and local teams. Everyone competed by picking and collecting the water hyacinths. After that, we took all the water hyacinths and transformed them into basketry products to generate income for the villages.
